Barómetro de las elecciones europeas

body

Between the 4th and 7th June 2009 the 7th direct elections to the European Parliament took place in the 27 member countries of the European Union. The KAB Deutschlands (German Catholic Workers' Movement) had established an internet platform in collaboration with several European workers' organisations.

Its focal point was a barometer that took up questions of social justice with the following topics: work, social security, cohesion, education and migration.

Visitors could vote on these topics on the internet. The votes were forwarded to the candidates for the European election, to emphasise the central importance of social issues in the election campaign. In addition this internet platform had provided important basic information on the European election and the positions of the participating workers' organisations. There were also interviews with European politicians, as well as outcomes of successful operations within the European election campaign from the participating movements.
