The KAB in Germany
“International cooperation requires people who can be part of the process of economic and human development through the solidarity of their presence, supervision, training and respect.“ This is what Pope Benedict XVI. says in his Encyclical Letter “Caritas in veritate“. Men and women from the KAB Germany, the Catholic Workers’ Movement, share a commitment for economic and human development processes. One practical example is our “Vote Europe“ project which has been inspired by the idea of undivided solidarity for social justice in our common European home.

“Workers in different parts of the world live in different, although interconnected and mutually dependent situations. In order to make a contribution to the harmonic development of mankind, we must familiarize ourselves with these situations and become aware of their existence.” (Pope John Paul II.) We participate in the “Vote Europe” project because we believe that European issues must assume a more central position in the life of our nation. The website will provide all interested persons with easy access to information and enable them to vote on a range of issues.

“Solidarity must not stop at national frontiers. All of us are living and working in Europe, and we must therefore not remain indifferent to the lives of people in other parts of the continent. A socially just Europe grows from the bottom up. This is why all of us must get involved.”

The European Christian Workers Movement (ECWM)
The ECWM is a pan-European Movement. All initiatives that emphasize a European dimension are obviously important, particularly those that express the opinions of committed members of the voluntary sector from many different European countries and that enable an exchange of views about subjects which are relevant for our societies. The project “Vote Europe” presents an excellent opportunity for this.
