The European Christian Workers Movement (ECWM)

The European Christian Workers Movement (ECWM) is a network of 24 workers movements in 16 European states. The ECWM is the European co-ordination of the World Movement of Christian Workers (WMCW), which was founded more than 40 years ago. While different national movements, particularly in Eastern Europe, are still in the founding process, others like the KAB Germany, are looking back on a tradition of 160 years. Common interest is the exchange over the situation of employees and its families, the formulation of common points of view in relation to European policy and a vision of a social Europe. The basis for the social, cultural and emancipatory work of the individual movements is the gospel, which places human beings into the center of acting.
